Krishna's Body Painting
Krishna has been an artist and lover of the arts all of her life, but began perfecting the art of bodypainting in 1998. For the past several years, Krishna has developed this art and integrated it into performance art and dance. Her photographs have been displayed in various galleries and cafes in Tucson.
Krishna enjoys collaborating with other artists, photographing and videoing performers and musicians and is now embarking on a path of music by learning to play drums.
Krishna comes from a mother who is also a painter and has taught Krishna the art of love, magic and spirit. Krishna conveys this best in her paintings and photographs and through her devotion to her friends and fellow artists.
Krishna’s images convey a deep sense of passion, love, devotion and magic that communicate a palatable sensuality that jumps out of the photograph and reaches for your heart.
Krishna’s favored art form is the self-portrait—with and without bodypaint. Krishna believes in documenting her emotional and mental journey through life with photographs to portray her spiritual process.
Krishna is currently compiling a book of her art soon to be published.
Krishna Bright has lived in Tucson for 12 years and has been actively involved in the art community for 6 years as a photographer, painter (main medium being human bodies), supporter and assistant to other artists in this community. She serves as a board member on Many Mouths One Stomach, the organization responsible for Tucson’s annual All Souls Procession.
Krishna began her career as a bodypainter 7 years ago first through self-portraits, then through painting others and working with performance artists. Her work has been displayed in other galleries and in choreographed pieces of dance. Krishna’s preferred art is through the process of the self-portrait, perfecting this into a display of the unfolding and transformation of the spirit.
